Good news for all gamers (or keyboard enthusiasts) out there who love pink! I have found what could be the girliest keyboard around. The Ducky Shine 2 was released in a limited edition pink color. Although Ducky is a lesser known brand here in the Philippines, I know that a lot of gamers use this brand. I am not what I would call a gamer per se. I did play a couple of games in the past but I wouldn’t brand myself a gamer. Still, of course, I wouldn’t pass up the chance. I have always wanted to use a mechanical keyboard anyway.
Ducky Shine 2 DK9008 (₱6,480 or around $148)
The keyboard is backlit with white LED lights and the keycaps are pink. I chose the Cherry Blue switches because I like my keys snappy. This means that I have to press harder for the stroke to register. It’s definitely softer than a typewriter but it’s just a bit less noisy, if not as. If I am gonna use a mechanical keyboard, I might as well choose something that feels like one. Brown is too soft for me and I have the feel that it might get stuck (although of course it won’t).
Unlit and lit keys
Everything looks better with the lights turned off!
There are many options for the lighting. It could either be pulsing or this setting (pictured below) I like wherein the keys only light up when pressed. Extra red keycaps are also included in the box.
I know that 6,000+ for a keyboard is too expensive, but believe you me, when it comes to key feel, durability and maintenance, mechanical keyboards are the best. They wouldn’t be expensive for no reason.
Now the next thing to do is to find nice keycaps to replace these with. I hope I can find some whites and light pinks <3 Does anyone of you like customizing mech keyboards? Are you gamers?
